ST BARNABAS GREEK AND SUNDAY SCHOOLS
Parents and Guardians of school age children
of the Community of St Barnabas, North London
O P E N L E T T E R – I N V I T A T I O N
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The new school year 2009-2010 is at hand and invites pupils, parents, guardians and teachers, all together, to launch a holy crusade in the important chapter of education. It invites us to deal with it systematically and whole-heartedly. All the children of school age must be led to the classes of the Greek Schools.
Hellenism, certainly, neither in the past nor in the present can be proud of having great numbers of people. However, it can surpass the others when it wants to, as far as education is concerned. This, of course, is not a reason to boast about but to be able to offer the great benefit of education, firstly to itself and then to others. Having this target and these dreams, let us occupy ourselves with this important matter of teaching our young generation, the Greek and Christian ethos.
The Greek and Sunday Schools of the community of St Barnabas commence the new school year on Saturday, 5th September 2009. The blessing of the waters for the School will take place on Saturday, 12th September 2009. We trust to have you with us on that day.
We await to see all of you working together with eagerness and zeal and offer the children support, encouragement and strength. In this way they will be able to stand on their own two feet and resist this world of confusion and greed.
With these few words I greet you and remind you that with feelings of much love and great goodness, await to see you in the Greek School.
Best wishes and blessings in the Lord,
† Bishop Athanasios of Tropaeou
P.S. Please register the children at the school office as soon as possible.
